To Whom It May Concern,
I am happy to pen a letter of recommendation for Kathryn Medley. I am the Elementary Assistant Principal at the International School of Myanmar and we have over five hundred students in our building ages three through twelve. This year Kathryn has taught 5th grade.
It is always a delight to stop by her room and see the students engaged with each other in learning activities. Kathryn is a very effective teacher, she really invites her students to think and ponder. The students do a lot of cooperative learning and sharing of knowledge in a non-threatening way. She prepares creative and authentic lessons and integrates technology across the learning areas so as to enhance the students learning.
Kathryn shows commitment to on-going professional development and as well as in house workshops she has attended a weekend workshop on Effective Strategies in the classroom and used this knowledge to inform her planning and have her students actively involved in their learning. For this year Kathryn has been a member and contributor to our whole school Assessment Committee who have been working towards common assessments that align throughout the three schools.
While being a compassionate teacher another strength of Kathryn’s is the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with the children in her care as well as parents and colleagues. She continually strives to develop the knowledge and pedagogy needed to meet all of her students’ needs. She goes and observes in other teachers’ classrooms to pick up new management, pacing, and creative ideas.
Kathryn is consistently respectful of all in our building and is an absolute delight to work with. She has a cheerful, accepting disposition and possesses great communication skills.
I would welcome Kathryn back at any time. You will be very fortunate to add her to your staff. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further queries.
